But,that Russian one is still way way more cheap (and downright plastic-like murky 80’s) looking,though.Ngl.It sure can tell, despite the slightest color resemblance like on that image only…
Are these current two floors of glass ultra-clear like One Vanderbilt’s observation deck levels?
Yes and no, the glass is just “more” see-through because of the (essentially) triple height space, allowing you to see the opposite side without the ceiling being in the way when viewed from ground level and vice versa from the air with the floor. The windows “are” generally more transparent than the typical panels but they’re nowhere near the transparency of OVs observation deck windows.
Doesn’t look like they’re fireproofing that floor. Am I missing something ?
Just seeing those final levels get cladded makes 270 become more and more outstanding! Hopefully the base gets (more or less) finished out by year’s end! I just wanna see this lit up at night!
This is like the only project where I have faith the nighttime lighting will be as good as the rest of the project. This is JPMorgan’s trophy tower.
If this project fails at it, then I’m just gonna consider NYC skyscraper lighting completely dead in the water
To the benefit of birds.
I know I can’t be the only one wondering what’ll happen to those thousands of “holes” (vents…?) at the base of the building above the ground floor windows Gonna make for a ton of nests year-round!
Maybe they’ll put in some kind of screening.
Excellent video! Shows all the angles I’d hope to see from the street views! NY’s skyline has changed drastically in the past decade, with One Vanderbilt and 270 really filling out this new wave of supertalls! Crossing fingers 175 Park gets built as well!
LOL that is a render of a fake building that they never intended to build, that they used to drum up publicity,
then, they “improved” on the design and got rid of everything that would have been interesting about this tower, including its asymmetry
While the current symmetric version is nice, I wish they went with it being asymmetric like in that render. It’s way cooler.
