It would be nice if the Chrysler building got updated lighting so it could display colors as well. Perfect crown for it

This I agree with, something to make the crown shimmer at night just like during the day. Also would love to see the spire lit up

The ESB, One Vanderbilt, and 270 Park may have some competition with each other with multicolored lights lol

Actually I disagree. I don’t mind colors in other buildings but the Chrysler should remain pristine with its original lighting scheme.

I disagree. Just because RGB LEDs exist, doesn’t mean you have to put them on everything.

I believe the Chrysler Building has been updated with LEDs, but just white LEDs. You get a much nicer quality of white light with white LEDs than you do trying to make white with RGB LEDs. I think it looks extremely classy this way and wouldn’t change it.

Oh I’m not saying I would want it in different colors all the time, I agree pure white can look very classy and dignified.

But it would be nice to have the option of colors.

This is simply a value judgement, in other words, your attitude about the matter: so I can not say you are wrong.

My attitude is the Chrysler Building is a ‘period piece’ , an historical icon above and beyond all others, even the empire state building. So to see that crown lit up in any thing other than white light would be very ‘off-putting’ to say the least.

I respect your opinion, but lets keep that Classic Chrysler Building - CLASSY.

I wouldn’t mind them illuminating the spire though since they went through so much effort to hide it while it was being built.

Chrysler should stay white. While it’d be cool to see it lit in different colours, it’s an icon and the white lighting is sufficient and historically appropriate.

I wouldn’t mind a warm incandescent type white. Maybe that’s what it used to be?

back to 270…

some real nice bulk as viewed from sleepy hollow

Still such a shame that they neglected to leave room for rail on that shiny new bridge.

What are those three floors at the last setback below the top? Could they be conference rooms or the rooms of the board members?

That is an old render from @ThreeWentDown/not official, it does not reflect the current design.

There are 2 conference floors (1 full and 1 mezzanine)in the lower tier of the crown. But that isn’t necessarily new information either.

This is a render of that section isn’t it

Yep :+1:though it is a slightly misleading render since it doesnt show the louvered mechanical panels of the floors directly below.

Lol I know that location very well. I always put my 4-ways for an “emergency” stop which entails taking a photo. Offers such a nice view. Industrial NJ and the City. I almost wish they’d build some stairs on that section of the turnpike ground level up to a certain elevation… just so folks can get a unique perspective.

The Verrazano’s is another one if your heading to Staten Island around mid-way in the bridge, be in the far right location, lower level. Hard to take a shot unless its slow slow traffic.
