Glad it’s not just me. I’ve had 3 on the back of my neck & I was wondering what it is. Saw many around the trade center this afternoon. Stepped on a lot and noticed many others had stepped on them as well.
Maybe they think we’re trees?
I didn’t realize from Mackensen’s last screen grab of the live feed that they had already started on the cladding of the next tier, but for a few panels missing (and the openings left by the construction elevators) the first tier has been fully clad. Above the current level of cladding will be 4 rows of the mechanical louvered cladding, which will go on all 4 sides of the building this time, where there will also be exhaust pipes coming out of the E/W faces, similar to those at One Vanderbilt and 3 WTC.
Setback level has been reached, though I’m still wondering why 3 story steel wasn’t done as it was for a few other previous sections. Lot’s of mechanical stuff after the setback, October top out doesn’t seem that likely anymore (though I’m still slightly optimistic), but it should definitely top out in November.
love that we can see the cladding from this cam now too
Pan Am/Metlife reduced to filler -
Actually the building has already nearly reached the 2nd of the mech levels (L53 on the diagram) the steel is kind of hard to discern from my photo though because it is on the opposite Park Ave side.
one of those two cranes will be down shortly.
