Avenue D and Houston Street. I look for this building to be located between ONE VANDERBILT, Met Life and 432 Park as reference from this vantage point. I am sometimes not sure we are looking at the same towers/cranes…
That’s it, now beginning to loom over MetLife, and down to two tower cranes.
Well this tower is the only tower in Manhattan with favco cranes (even if they aren’t specifically favcos) in the sky right now, so I’m slightly confused what other developments you are seeing that would leave the impression you’ve made.
It’s funny to me that at a height of between 900’-1000’, this tower only marginally sticks out of the skyline. It’s a testament to the overall density of NYC.
Thanks for the confirmation: I thought I caught the right shot - but was not certain.
Cheers.

Nice, I was wondering when they were going to put these panels on, there is an intermediate mullion breaking the glass in half but these are still the tallest panels that are being installed in the entire building.
I’m not sure about that sentiment, The Helmsley building will always have a powerful presence down Park Ave since it is landmarked and will always be there. I’d say it definitely gets the respect it deserves, 270 is just on the side and but only for some angles, if someone was standing on the center median of Park Ave, it’s actually not visible even though it’s so tall/wide.
Now if 270 were located on the Helmsley building’s lot, that would’ve been iconic instantly as a centerpiece tower because of its symmetric form.
It’s actually closer to the half way point than 1/3rd point only by the margin of a floor, it’s about 44% it’s total height (just the third tier).
The diamond node should occur on the next floor.
Thanks. This level is really proceeding quickly.
How many more floors to go?
