This building is just weird.

Yes, and once they add the 'Tin Foil Hat’ - it will be weirder. This is one of my favorites: perhaps because of its weirdness.

Bye bye Flatiron, you’ll be missed from the 86th floor.

ouch!

It’s funny to think many were worried this building would cover the view of the ESB. But the girth of the ESB is so much greater than that of this building, it barely makes an impact.

Still waiting for any sign of cladding…

Well the signs are actually there already, it’s just the actual cladding we’re waiting for

Yes, I too am eagerly waiting to see this facade (and crown) come together.

My guess is that many of those facade components are still HERE at the factory being made: good things come to those who wait… :innocent:

I wonder what a “photovoltaic facade” is; and what the final finishes will actually look like?

Excerpt -
“The company will realize continuous facades with cells, windows, composite panels in aluminum and, after several patents, the innovative photovoltaic facade, a symbol of beauty and sustainability.”

They’re just facade panels with PV cells integrated into them. They arent used frequently because they are difficult to maintain over just using pv panels. They dont really change the appearance of what they are applied to either.
