Another silly sliver -

How high would say it is now? Looks roughly 700 feet to me

The renderings show two holes (windows?) on every other floor, yet the concrete so far hasn’t shown any of them. Were they value-engineered out? Surprised there hasn’t been a single piece of cladding yet (despite being less than 200 ft from T/O) :face_with_spiral_eyes:

That was one of the changes from when the building was shortened. Though it’s always still possible that they could be apart of the cladding itself and are just false windows.

@jackster99 it’s quite possible.

if they are indeed raising a construction elevator on the east elevation, could it be possible that the smaller portholes will just be punched out eventually?

That’s not really something that would be done after the fact especially not with concrete as thick as on that shear wall. This construction elevator going up on the east side is probably to install cladding on that side.

Getting that side angle.

Somebody must of kidnapped the ESB. Anybody see the ESB lol.

And that’s why I don’t get the complaints about this building partially blocking the view of the ESB from a particular angle. It already gets covered up by many angles.

Is it just me but these floorplans make little sense.

It’s not you. I mean is that… is that a… round bed in what looks like the primary suite?! WTH? And I think I see where the kitchen is… but where are the appliances? Where’s the laundry?

I think someone tried a little too hard to get cute and stylish with this, and instead they’ve just made it inscrutable.

The furnishings in these photos seem to match the floor plan illustrations as far as I can tell. I see the same sofa groupings, and the same large circular table/chairs.

Not sure; but these floor plans & the photos may have the same origins. The google search link came up with this facebook page that has 262 Fifth Avenue in the page title. Maybe…idk.

Interior design of a template apartment for a new high- rise building at 262 Fifth Avenue in New York #nyc #262fifthavenue #interiordesign #apartmentdesign

Looks like a duplex. You can faintly see the stairs on the upper right next to the service portion on the plan. It is odd.

Nice find! A lot going on, will need time to digest. I rather like seeing those circular windows contextualized.

The enlarged floorplans make more sense.

It really does ruin that ESB view from this angle.

Yep, this was such an iconic view. Now blocked by an otherwise mediocre building.
