This block went from Hell to Heaven.

A lovely tower, but I wish they had put a little more effort into crown. That boring brown box at the top doesn’t do the rest of the tower justice in my opinion.

Something as simple as the following would be a big improvement (and they could get rid of the blank spine down the back while they were at it!):

I agree 100%. The non-crown almost ruins it for me, too.

I like it - a ‘handsome looking building’ is my amateur opinion. I will sing the praises of any developer that goes beyond the basic profitability formula of: the ‘building envelope’ is kept as simple and rectilinear as possible; use the maximum allowable FAR as the one-and-only deciding criteria for the overall shape of the building; simply attach prefabricated glass/metal window panels to the facade; purchase only the least expensive building materials; hire only the lowest bidding contractors to construct the building.

The developers, architects, engineers, and contractors at 25 Park Row did none-of-the-above, and the result is this attractive work of Architecture. I will admit, maybe perhaps I am a bit too easy to please when it comes to my Architectural Critiques.
