2nd Ave Subway won’t be done until the 22nd Century. They started it in the 70’s (and planned it much earlier than that) and only 3 stations have since been built. 2WTC has a better chance at this point.
AmEx decided to stay put.
Unfortunate if true. Feels like AmEx was 2WTC’s last chance, at least as an office building.
This makes no sense, I doubt that.
Welcome. Big news if true. Can you tell us anything about when a public announcement might be made?
Sadly part of me would be relieved because I dislike the compromises that have been made recent iterations of WTC 2. At this point, the top half should be residential.
Among things, the Port already tasked PMX to find someone who will be checking in on the construction of this tower.
@JRF any new info for us ![]()
I wouldn’t be surprised if true either. One disappointment after another. At the same time if it means we aren’t getting the shorter spire version that makes me happy. Its been almost 3 months since we heard amex was going through with the lease and they didn’t say anything around the anniversary so I was wondering what might be happening
By now anything higher than that ugly temporary mess of scaffold/cover-structure is a win.
I might be wrong.

LOL. What in the world

…..
good news that these scaled down half-assed value engineered plans fell through
who cares if this gets built today, tomorrow or ten years from now
one thing for sure is that a prime location like this deserves an iconic tower, and it will come
but if you build something mediocre now, then you know you’re stuck with it for next century
be proud NY and know your value
What’s your source?
Well idk.
and the new incarnation of 007 has just arrived …
So we have a tenant?
Audibly laughed
We’ll see
