Which master plans would you rather have been chosen? Just out of curiosity.

In hindsight and for the fact it’s 2025 and the complex is still not finished together with it’s painful value engineering (and what’s to come?) I’d say this design:
(edit, no this is not a master plan design, on that matter it worked out way better I didn’t like any of them) Maybe that ‘competition’ was held to soon after 9/11?

I was looking at my WTC replica and
I hope the spire wasn’t slapped on to mimic this specific shape (yet flipped). I liked the symbolism from before where the west face looked like the Twin Towers from the harbor

The only thing the current design mimics is the damn holes them planes tore through the buildings with these tacky balcony holes

It looks far less worse without those tacky horizontal blinds taking half of the tower and interfering with the vertical fins.

Question about that design, was it meant to build actual twin towers with similar office space into that structure? Or is only to reflect a shadow and meant as giant memorial?

That’s pretty massive indeed, and they’d been done with the complex years back Wouldn’t surprise me if the quarter century mark goes by with no progress so far either. Had hoped for some breadcumbs by now.

Exactly how I’ve felt for years 
I doubt 2WTC will be finished by the 40th anniversary at this rate 
By then, 2WTC (rather, WTC 2) will have been gone longer than the existing one stood 
You’d think it wouldn’t take over two decades to get SOMETHING going, yet here we are…. @TK2000 “We got Hudson Yards phase 1 before we even got a podium for 2WTC!”

2nd Ave Subway won’t be done until the 22nd Century. They started it in the 70’s (and planned it much earlier than that) and only 3 stations have since been built. 2WTC has a better chance at this point.
