NEW YORK | 2 Penn Plaza (Renovation) | 412 FT | 29 FLOORS

Definitely much needed. The probably chose planters because they also act as bollards.

Never posted any older images I had taken since the night shot, so here’s these from today.

The trees definitely do add a lot. Still a small portion of fenced in area at the center of 2Penn.

They finally opened the majority of the newly expanded sidewalk infront of 1 Penn East, its actually amazing only because I was tired of the bottleneck.

The roadway is definitely going to have to be redone on the side nearest to the expanded sidewalk because it is now actually higher than the sidewalk.

That’s a bit jarring…

Half of 7th Ave already started to be redone last week when I walked by. Can’t wait until everything is said and done.

I’m sure the east side of 7th will eventually also be redone when those lots are redeveloped. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I hadn’t ever bothered going on that side in a long time, thanks for the update to that side!

You reminded me I forgot to show these updates, they had already finished redoing the street grading/rebuilding. All they had left was to redo the corner sidewalk portion.

This is an area I will be glad is free of all the construction stuff when everything is done, until the time that anything in the Penn District is built and then it just spirals into another construction zone…

They opened up a finished pathway through the corner construction.

They opened the full corner, only the part more west is fenced off now

Decorating for the holidays, should look nice. All the trees lining the street are dormant already.

They’re now starting to repave the center portion infront of the new station entrance. Also looks like the corner section enclosure to the south has gotten smaller so things are probably near finishing up on that end.

I love everything in this renovation, but I hate that new corner LED screen

I get the feeling that having both the corner screen on 31st, and the screen above the 32nd street entrance (as it was pre-renovation, but not shown in earlier renderings) are things pushed for by MSG - to our detriment.

Finally ventured to the south side after who knows how long, still relatively a lot of work to be done. The NJT entrance looks so out of place…

@Alemel I would “like” to say that the corner billboard is not permanent, but its hard to tell, I only say that because it definitely looks like an after thought. The central billboard screen above the Penn Station entrance was supposed to be the only permanent one.

They might plan to redesign this entrance similarly to the main one, and if so, I can see them integrating the screen better. :crossed_fingers:

Looks like there’s a lighting scheme being tested.

Can’t wait for it to have ten blown out strips by the summertime

Don’t worry a part of it already has in the overhang. It’s been like this for several months. No pride whatsoever in lighting. Yayyyy.
