Pretty generic shape, but it’s elevated by good materials and some nice touches.

Verizon Communications will move its headquarters a few blocks west to Penn 2, a newly redeveloped tower next to Penn Station, the company announced late Monday.

Verizon will lease nearly 200,000 square feet at Penn 2, the building formerly known as 2 Penn Plaza that was recently redeveloped by owner Vornado Realty Trust at a cost of $750 million. Other tenants include Madison Square Garden’s corporate offices, Major League Soccer, and Universal Music Group. Penn 2 holds 1.8 million square feet and was about half occupied before the Verizon lease was signed.

Verizon said about 1,000 corporate employees would work at Penn 2 starting next year. It has 6,000 employees in the New York area.

Nice to see! I wonder who’s going to take the two floors with the new podium space?

Looked it up, the podium floors were leased by Universal Music Group.

Oh I didn’t realize they published those figures! Nice to see the podium and rooftop spaces both seem to be leased; I really like what Vornado’s done with this project personally

They’ve done great with this project, agreed!

The soaring roof of the cantilever/outcropping, the activated pedestrian plazas and retail offerings, etc are a bright spot and architectural/urbanist magnet in the area. I see tourists taking pics there all the time.

They couldn’t build a highway across Manhattan so they had to settle for designing a pedestrian highway overpass system?

This appears to be a design concept for the High Line, which reuses an abandoned elevated railroad trestle as a park. The location depicted seems to be a concept for the connection to the Moynihan Train Hall and the Manhattan West complex.

We did get something that goes to that area, but it looks like this:

It’s pretty nice, I’ve been there a few times.
