i’d think it may be the opposite - brightest for daytime visibility/readability and dimmer at night
Seems like they picked up the pace.
They’ll have a nice view of Midtown’s largest surface parking lot from the south end of this addition.
It really looks so much better with the new cladding. It actually looks like it could be a modern design with exposed structural elements, cutaways etc
This is a serious transformation, bravo to all that made this happen.
The ceiling lighting was unfortunately not turned on when I walked by this but by the brightness of the 2 panels that were on, I’d imagine it would’ve lit up the area a great deal. Not to mention that the lit up floor is really really bright, so I can imagine both floors being lit and the ceiling being lit, and the new storefront and entrances, etc. The area in general will be extremely well lit, which is a nice change for the area and it will be nice when the sidewalk sheds are removed even though they will still be up on surrounding lots/blocks
.
This looks DUMB!
I’m still not quite sure if you can share videos on posts but the animations were being tested today, the video doesn’t really show it off that well, but they/the screen in general looked really good! It definitely brightened up the area.
You’re such a young guy. I could be your grandfather.
Congrats on KPF. That’s a great firm. I know you can’t comment on their projects, but I wonder if BP is reconsidering a pure office project at 343 Madison since that proposal doesn’t appear on BP’s or KPF’s websites.
Very bladerunneresque
The resolution looks better than expected based on how far apart the LEDs initially looked. I think distance helps. Not bad.
This will look incredible when it’s completed. The plaza will feel quite spacious and bright at night, especially once the scaffolding comes down. It’s quite claustrophobic down there.
An improvement (what wouldn’t be?) but speaks to the lack of vision and a lack of commitment all around in this area.
All your shots from today are especially nice!
I didnt know they had planted trees on the north side of Farley/Moynihan, I feel like I never walk down 33rd street ![]()
