And at 1880 First Ave. in East Harlem, the administration will solicit bids for projects containing about 800 new homes - also one-quarter affordable. The site is currently a parking lot that serves adjacent Metropolitan Hospital.

But both projects remain years away, meaning a different mayor could end up overseeing them - the city will not issue requests for proposals from developers until after both projects have completed a public engagement process that will get underway in the coming months. And the winning bids will need to pass through the city’s seven-month land-use review.
