NEW YORK | 175 Park Avenue (Grand Hyatt) | 1,580 FT | 83 FLOORS

I agree, Manhattan is undergoing another skyscraper boom since the 2010s! :+1:

And sorry for a naive question, when you mentioned “there could be built even higher”, are you implying that this tower is not officially 1,575ft? (:open_mouth::flushed:), or you’re saying that future skyscrapers will be built at taller heights (taller than the tip of One WTC)?

It might be the lighting, but it looks like the approved one is a copper/gold color like 270 park

Some details like the cross bracing are different too, as well as some details in the crown

For comparison in similar light

WOW, if that’s the case then both 270 and 175 Park will look similar in terms of the materials being used!

Another future project could be even taller than the current ones.

Ah okay, thanks for the clarification!

Now that I’ve thought about it, this revised height still looks like it’s at least 1600ft, but maybe because of the bulk of this tower. But regardless it’ll look HUGE from all directions, especially Queens. Also, the ESB will be almost completely obscured when viewed from Connecticut.

And I agree with what you said about future towers having taller heights. The new mayor-elect Eric Adams did say during the opening of the Summit of One Vandy, that New York will be reaching to new heights

I think its the lighting. SOM loves a shiny, clean aesthetic. Copper/bronze would be out of character for them.

I hope the lighting of the crown will be either of these pictures that I did in Minecraft ^

  3. 1955 - 1973
  4. 1980 - 1990
  5. 2011 - 20…. .

OK, thanks
I selected the 2000’s as some important schemes were build back then (Bank of America Tower, 4 Times Square, One Beacon Court, The New York Times Building, Time Warner Center, 15 Central Park West, even Goldman Sachs Headquarters if we are strict…)

The buildings which are built in the 2000s I do not know so well. We can talk further in this topic:New York Metropolitan Vintage Photo/Video Collection. :slightly_smiling_face:

„Completion of 175 Park Avenue is anticipated in 2030.“
