What a great set of photos and video.

Question, does anyone know what these are for? Are they for the LED lights?

For LED lights? Doesnt make any sense, because the space is entirely covered.

That’s pretty obvious, thats the piece that fixes the terracotta to the metal structure.

IL those ILNY photos. The close up of the terra cotta components are fantastic; I too can say for sure that those little aluminum ‘c’ channels are not LED lights. The answer above is correct: the aluminum channels/bars are part of what holds the terra cotta ‘tiles’ to the metal framing members. These are quality components going into this facade: good to see. ShoP did a great job on this tower.

I guess I’m not understanding where the lights will go then. Maybe they were cut.

I don’t know either; but I bet we find out soon enough with all the knowledgable input were getting on this thread. This building project is one of the best ever to follow - very enjoyable and informative thread.

I continue to see this building as a NY classic. Felt that way when the first renderings appeared even though I typically wait until projects are well into construction before making a final judgment. Nothing has happened with this one that changes my first impressions. It is simply beautiful. And I’m eager to see what it will look like at night. Still some excitement to come I suspect.

This building truly is a work of art with a unique appearance made possible with great engineering and high quality building materials. Hopefully whatever rises at 123 west 57th street and the Park Lane site have an aesthetic appeal closer to this and not 432 park avenue. It would be a shame for an eyesore to rise near this masterpiece.

I’d love to see another terracotta tower go up at the Park Lane. Something in rich green like the Fitzroy with similar Art Deco aspirations, or something like the American Radiator building, black and gold.
