Merdeka 118. Currently the only megatall under construction, now that it is topped out it’s the second tallest skyscraper in world

That base is pretty freaking good as well.
And while it is a pretty freaking big spire, it’s far better than 1 WTC’s spire. The cladding is actually there and an observation deck in the spire.

That’s why I’m a little confused here. How come the spire cladding works for this megatall but not One WTC? I understand that these two are years apart but for One WTC, it would look great on it

And yeah the base is freaking cool as well

Idk I guess the one they designed couldn’t handle the wind or something. And good fucking luck getting the developer of that building to redesign something they could just leave alone.

Well at least IMO the spire for One WTC is still good. But imagine that building being a megatall :heart_eyes:

Chicago is real bad about getting proposed buildings, even serious proposals that get real close and then they just fail. Unfortunate really. The Chicago Spire whether it was a financial success or not would have cemented Chicago with a megatall, and it was actually happening, actually being built.

No, the site is being used for a twin tower project. With the taller one being around 1,100 ft last I heard.

Ohh yeah, I almost forgot about that. At least it’s still supertall status. Would be cool if the shorter one is 1700 ft and the other 2000 ft

This is about megatalls, specifically. It’s just a place to conglomerate about this specific topic.
