When I saw this two months ago, I thought it was just a nice filler. But this time I saw how much it has risen, it dominates nearly as much as the three towers. And another tower is coming!

I love the height but the facade is terrible. Really looks like they asked whats the cheapest way they could make a tall building and went with it. There’s just… nothing special about it. Just a bunch of black holes on a glass tower. I dislike PTACs but many PTAC towers at least attempt to blend them into the design in a way where they are less noticeable. This is just… even worse than the renderings. Oh well. One day maybe Jersey City will get around to banning them from mid-rise and high-rise construction.

The view from the PATH station isn’t much better either. This project has had so many missed opportunities with the design. This project was supposed to be the centerpiece of the “new” Journal Square. I’m not holding out much hope on a nicely designed pedestrian plaza out front.
