Request a correction to the thread title. This building will be 20 floors, not 27.

Weird. I don’t know who changed it, but it used to have the correct height. Should be 20 Floors and 223 Feet.

I put in a request to have it changed.

There’s actually 6 total buildings within this development (the “Homestead Assemblage”):

  1. 28 Cottage St
  2. 35 Cottage St
  3. 28-32 Van Reipen St
  4. 32-38 Cottage St
  5. 29 Van Reipen St
  6. 33-35 Van Reipen St (aka 618 Pavonia St)

I believe that is in order of Phases, but I could be wrong, especially about the last three.

Here’s 28 Cottage St, from yesterday - nearly topped out

That’s not a blank wall… is it?

Yes it is.

Hopefully they are going to cover it up

I read recently that per Jersey City ordinance blank exterior walls over a certain surface area (this one blows past that) have to have murals/art on them. So it will most likely be covered up.

Wow that’s a pretty cool ordinance. Too bad we don’t have something like that here; it would probably have to be limited strictly to murals since I’m sure advertisers would take advantage.

That is cool. Never knew about that.

This is from a couple weeks ago before it topped out with another blank wall/mural nearby.

The developer was granted their requested site plan amendment last month. The “blank walls” will be covered with EIFS and the developer will participate in the Jersey City mural program.

Good. Love to see artwork incorporated into the neighborhoods. It’s just as important as public space in my opinion.
