yeah.
Canal has so much junk. Given it’s a wide, traffic-choked major arterial in the middle of Manhattan, with some of the busiest subway hubs in the U.S., the zoning should allow soaring towers. Of course the NIMBYs fight six-floor buildings on Canal, imagine if (much more appropriate) sixty-floor towers were rising.

the Google maps image is pretty recent, my guess would be facade renovation on the church
I readed it, it says “Work in Progress: Full Demolition” The expected completion is Summer 2023

@YIMHudson I don’t think the corner building is associated with the church next door, it’s (was) just a small rental and commercial building.
Zoning documents show that it is being demolished and replaced with a shorter 4 story commercial tower 47’ tall. But I don’t think this particularly needs it’s own thread, it can be combined/moved to here. @chris08876 or another mod?

It is a five-story building
Do you mean the current building (which is in fact 5 stories) or the proposed building? If there is a drawing on the construction board that has 5 stories, it’s of the old proposal, the newest zoning documents show a 4 story building instead.
