Happy Holidays!

I am wondering what material was used to make the Waldrand pyramid. It is beautiful, curious of its size also. I grew up with something similar put much smaller from my Danish side of the family. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you,

The pyramid is made of wood and the motifs were cut out of plywood sheets. This is a small pyramid, I have an oriental one (with ecclesiastical motifs) but it’s bigger.

Beautiful ! Just curious, was this originally meant to hold wax candles or was it designed with the bulbs in mind?

Originally, wax candles are placed on a pyramid, which are then lit. The rising warm air drives the wings so that the inside of the pyramid slowly rotates.

The three pictures are dated July 1965, the rendering on the left 1964 and the one on the right 1967.

I wish us all a happy new year 2025.
