This building is so awful.

This is an historic building; that fortunately has not become a ‘destroyed’ building. The interior lobby, and much of the original facade has been beautifully restored.

I was surprised to see this on recent visit to this building: the lobby is a masterpiece carved in marble. This was probably once a commercial building that has been converted to residential condos.

„ In 1964, Franklin National Bank expanded into Manhattan, establishing a branch at 132 Pearl Street in the historic Hanover Square district. Designed by the architectural firm Eggers & Higgins, the building was a faithful example of Colonial-Georgian architecture, featuring a red brick façade set in Flemish bond with marble columns, window trim, and cornices.“
