Looks great! And new highest floor count for Chicago. And maybe highest floor count in the western hemisphere? Anything else have more than 113? Or are these marketing floors like CPT having 131 floors?
i like how almost half of the building is set aside for rentals, not alot of supertalls that have as many rentals as this in NYC
That’s because the cost of building a tower in C is a fraction of what it is in NY.
Why is that?
Land costs are dramatically lower than they are in NY, and it’s my understanding that even though Chicago has absurd unions like NY, labor costs are way lower.
Since the cost of construction is much lower, high-end condos in Chicago are cheap. $1,000/sf is considered A LOT of money.
That’s a great tower.
Go go Chicago!
Chicago really needs a new iconic tower as a statement that it’s still relevant on the world stage. Maybe it doesn’t mean much for everyday folks but for us skyscraper nerds we won’t be satisfied by a few 800 footers.
Woot Woot!!!
Is this building 1422 or 1442 ft?
My simple drawing of Tribune Tower Addition
A Building with two facades:
If you sees the building from Michigan Ave. you can see the traditional old facade of the Tribune building. In contrast, you can see the building from the north, so you see a completely new design, with blue metallic glass similar to the Vista Tower.
Construction begins end 2021 or beginning 2022
Build build build! 1422 isn’t tall enough, make it 30 feet taller!
