A new stadium could be planned in Chicago, or the club could stay at the old historic Soldier Field.
Well Im mixed.
For one I do want Solider field used and possibly renovated.
On the other hand I also want a completely new soccer specific stadium.
Per: Soldier Field Soccer Design Proposal Revealed
But option three is what’ll happen if the Bears leave, and the proposal calls for a modification of Soldier Field to a multi-purpose stadium that’s better suited for soccer while also more accommodating for major concerts and other events.
This option is probably less on the $2.2 billion side of things and closer to the $900 million price point.
Where in Chicago will the new soccer stadium be built?
Found this on the costar article @Waymond_Womano :
"Morningstar who lives on Chicago’s North Side, said the time is right for the franchise to grow into its own venue. He has owned the team since 2019.
Mansueto has made preliminary visits to The 78, Sterling Bay’s Lincoln Yards along the river on the North Side and the former Michael Reese hospital site where firms including Farpoint Development are leading a mixed-use project called the Bronzeville Lakefront. That project is near the massive McCormick Place convention center."
