Look great! Glad SOM will be designing another landmark tower for Chicago.

It seems Chicago’s not fading away anytime soon on the development scene. Great news.

Nice. However, this tower is not remotely as good as BIG’s 2 WTC. Nonetheless, NAMBLA members on other “forums” have free reign to bash 2 WTC, yet, if a New Yorker dismissed this tower on other “forums,” he’d be banned. I guess non-NAMBLA members have to walk a fine line on SSC and SSP.

This looks more than a little like the Leadenhall Building in London.

To increase the station’s capacity and reduce train backlog, Amtrak will be reopening currently unused platforms located beneath the Old Post Office, 433 W. Van Buren St., Magliari said.

The renovations are not expected to be disruptive for passengers or others passing through the station, since the changes will be taking place in a part of the building not previously used for passenger rail, Magliari said.

Amtrak has been awarded a $43 million grant to convert the Mail Platform under the Old Post Office into a passenger platform for Chicago Union Station (CUS).

Unfortunately, the current plan will force passengers to make a time-consuming trip through the concourse, cross two live tracks, and navigate a chokepoint.

Wow, this will be even more cumbersome than connecting between Grand Central Madison and Grand Central Metro North.
