Bridgeport is finally getting a new skyscraper
Hope it happens, but the road from plans to reality can be long and bumpy
Not sure I would call a 22-story building a skyscraper…
Hopefully the height is not reduced if it goes through! ![]()
From the Coastal Permit / P&Z application (Sheet 2.11 / 35th page of the pdf), it looks like this would be the ground floor at 14’ + 21 floors at 12’ each for a total of 266 feet + any rooftop mechanical.
(Apologies for the terrible image quality, looks like Bridgeport scans in paper copies of their zoning application documents)
According to this list, Bridgeport Center (1989) is the tallest building in town at 267 feet.
Someone added on Wikipedia that Congress Street would be Bridgeport’s tallest building since 1989, suggesting it would be shorter than Bridgeport Center.
New information, it’s going to be Bridgeport’s tallest
Article is behind a waywall but from what I could see before the pop up it says it will be the tallest
I’m skeptical after the soccer stadium and other failed redevelopment attempts but I’m hopeful
He’s on a mission from god
