Hotelier LIMAC has filed plans with the Boston Redevelopment Authority for a 13-story, 74-key hotel in the Bulfinch Triangle area near North Station and across the street from the North End. The 2,159 square foot lot is at 88 North Washington Street, at the intersection with Valenti Way.
There will be a cafe in the lobby and no parking will be provided. The site is close to North Station for both travel and transit and is near the restaurants and entertainments of the North End.
According to the filing, materials like terracotta and brick will be used in the building, which will overhang by five feet on the Valenti Way frontage. That arcade will be illuminated.
In total, the building will be 144 feet high with 39,991 square feet of area. Zoning variances will be required for floor area ratio, height and the overhang. A conditional use permit will also be required because the site is in a groundwater conservation overlay district.
