Most of Austin’s new towers absolutely suck. These are far better than most of them.

Some do, but many don’t. Austin has plenty of nice ones going up along with some glass boxes and floor slabs separated by bland balconies on top of garages.

Specific plans for each tower were filed with the city a little bit prior to the pandemic, but progress stalled at that point. The ATX East Tower was/is the one that could be a supertall as planned. But I suspect it was/is around 900’. No idea what the revamped plans will be.
