Amtrak will resume service to British Columbia on September 26.

Unfortunately the NYC-Montreal train remains suspended.

Is this a covid thing?

I don’t think it’s Covid related, since the other two US-Canada trains have resumed service or are resuming service this month. In fact, it’s not clear at all what the hold-up is. Here is the latest article:

Yup. Forbes is a pro-business publication. Amtrak is not really a business; it’s a public service that also collects money from passengers, but it’s main goal is not to turn a profit, it’s to provide the service of moving people from place to place. I am incredibly pro-Amtrak.

The San Diego-Los Angeles train will be suspended for a few months, unfortunately, due to beach erosion that caused a slow-moving landslide

Just one more reason CAHSR should’ve started with the SoCal Network, and LA-San Diego in particular. Infuriating stuff.

Service crews on Amtrak trains aren’t especially intelligent or even helpful for that matter for example if you might have a question about something.
