I thought it would be good to make a singular thread devoted to Architects as they pass away instead of making a new thread each time that unfortunate occassion comes by.
Unfortunately we lost another giant in the world of Architecture, as the partial namesake and cofounder of KPF, Eugene Kohn, passed away today at 92 due to cancer. A great loss for KPF. He lived a full life and provided the world with so many timeless pieces of Architecture the world over.
It seems to me that architecture, as a profession (and perusing these obits), possibly helps to facilitate longevity. So many live into their late 80’s and 90’s. Even FLWright lived to 91 in 1959 when the mortality age was considerably lower. Very interesting, and I thought it would be a stressful profession. Maybe not for those who are highly successful and/or love what they do. Just a thought.
