seems they’re starting work on the hotel too!
I wouldn’t say its in the middle of nowhere.. its literally next to the biggest chinatown in the world and accessible via 7 train and LIRR. The site is a construction mess right now but definitely better than what was there before.

That view reminds me of the Octagon, a famous landmark just up the road from Willets Point along the Whitestone Expressway.

Video on the new affordable apartments showing the interior of one unit and the gym, which will also be located in the building. The public plaza appears to be finished, and interior work is progressing, with the project expected to open in the coming months

I wasn’t sure about the architecture of the apartment buildings, but now I think they will compliment both Citi Field and Etihad Park quite well. At least from what I see in the video.
