They were all gone by the time I walked by around 4pm.
Equipment is on site and the rebar is a bit above street level now
I’m actually excited for this tacky tower. I’ll be able to see it from my apartment. I used to have a view of the top of the Empire State Building until they built some shitty rental building across the street. This building will make up for that loss.
same. I’m a block away and if there was any place for a tower like this, well, let her rip.
Looks like ODA has provided Dezeen with nice and clear digital copies of these two renderings:

The article also gives the source for YIMBY’s photographed renderings as this book, a compendium on ODA’s work:
Rizzoli has a ton of fantastic architectural books. There’s some I have in my collection as well
I would consider this at ground level/above ground at this point
I vote to change the thread title to reference the street address as well as “The Torch.”
Im understanding that the renderings are going to change quite a bit and the design of the feature is going to become very simple.
Value Engineering once again…!
Hoping to see something at least CLOSE to this -
I really really hope they don’t skimp out on the lighting
its in Times Square I doubt they will
Can anyone guess when this will top out, considering the unique structure? Early-mid 2027 without any extra delays?
I recall the top of the hotel is about 11-12 months, then another 8- to get to the top of the torch
