Wow. This sure is boring. Looks more like an engineering project than an architectural design.

Affordable = not fancy.

I get the need to be frugal when building below market rate housing. But that doesn’t have to turn out ugly. Creativity can work wonders. But it has to be done by architects willing to think carefully. This one just looks value engineered even before the plans were drawn.

It is passivhaus construction. The materials selected have a purpose to reduce energy usage within the building. The purpose isn’t to look nice.
