Has a lot of great insights into the production process. All the hard work is definitely paying off! It’s beautiful.

The marble part of the cladding is now complete. Base is still limited to the western side

Looks like they were testing a small row of interior lighting at the top. Hopefully we’ll see more soon.

Anyone else think they should have tried to make it the same size as the base of One World Trade?

Impossible. The building is on an angle, and if it had the same length and width as One WTC it would be out of zoning bounds

The length and width of the PAC looks to be the same as the height, 138 feet. One WTC is 200×200 so its not that far off, but the difference is major

The building is actually 160 x 160 ft in width and length, it is angled in a way that it fits perfectly in line with the width of the base of One WTC. whose height is 185 ft (I’ve made a small diagram of this comparison with the actual façade superimposed). So technically in that aspect it is the same as One WTC, though if it was made the same height it possibly would have appeared as a perfect cube standing on top of the black base.

Welp, seems all the cams are down now aside from this memorial view.

Do I spy the beginning of black cladding installation?! I hope!

Noticed that too. At least they had a good run. Saw the entire cladding put up and most of the roof.

I am hard pressed to think that they started installing panels (or even some of the clips for that matter) without sealing and waterproofing the concrete first, which is what we could be seeing, the continuation of the black waterproofing. What has been installed does not seem to line up with the grid of the marble panels, the black panels of which will be following the same grid and dimensions. Imagery has shown the line has continued moving along the side though so until we get an actual site picture or a clearer image in general we may not know.

I still don’t get why they didn’t do this……
