NEW YORK | Penn 15 (401 7th Ave) | 1,200 FT | 61 FLOORS

It’s directly connected to the worst station, not the best station.

So we’re gonna waste the space with a mediocre tower that doesn’t even take full advantage

Apparently that’s not what was actually said, the more I kept on reading the quote the less it made sense… this is what was actually said

At PENN 15, the former Hotel Penn site, at 33rd Street and Seventh Avenue, directly across from PENN 2, is now down to grade and ready for development. I believe this site, in the heart of our PENN DISTRICT and directly connected to Penn Station, is the single best site available in booming West Side of Manhattan.

It said “Penn”, not “best”, just like “website” was “best site”. Yahoo’s AI transcriber typing transcribed a bunch of the stuff inaccurately, I had to go to a different website to find an accurate version of the earnings call. Lots of typos

^Yeah, it was incredibly frustrating to read.

This render was uploaded last month at the photos of the site and pops up when you google the tower.

It’s name reads “2025-01-07” and so it seems new, and also shows the updated 1200 feet iteration.

fixed (if the building was indeed truncated, it used to be 1270)

Best resolution  (the site is lowering the resolution, so i included the link)

Funny how they don’t look that tall though they obviously are.

It would be the tallest building in London or Toronto for perspective :joy:

So is it 1070 feet or 1200 feet?

They have been advertising 1070ft for awhile now.

Damn, that’s shorter than I remembered, but I think it looks well balanced that way.

I’m not sure that is mentioned anywhere (though correct me if im wrong), my own use of that number is not accurate, im just taking a clean 200’ off the original height.

@Skyalign There is no valid source that explicitly calls out the new height anywhere, it ranges from just saying +1000’, to 1000’ even, to graphics saying 1016’ and 1036’. The overall use of both old and new renders as well as physical models that show the original height is also a marketing disaster.

Site for a new MSG

One problem is these renderings were made by 12 year olds. This could be a real plan if they involved real architects and designers, and ditched the idea of resurrecting the original Penn facade.

And honetly 2 Penn would need to go too. I know they just spent all of this money renovating it, but really this needs to be one complete idea and not compromise by keeping an average building on the site.
