NEW YORK | PA Bus Terminal Redevelopment and Towers| 1,346 FT & 926 FT & ? FT| FLOORS

It would mostly be on the northern region of the map you’ve shared and some out of view.

This is a helpful indicator of where we should mostly see development occur. It is always possible for the development to continue south above the rest of the ramps leading to/coming from the Lincoln Tunnel, but the 4 Towers we continue to see presented/included in zoning diagrams and maps would be present in the shown boundary.

Okay cool. I just wanted to find out if the connection I had in mind was feasible or not.

The tourists are coming back (especially Europeans :slightly_frowning_face:) and I see bums around town but yes Port Authority is ground zero for that.

Three official proposals are there only or four?

Sky High Towers is New Yorks next tallest skyscraper.

The extension of the PABT to the High Line has the name “Higher Green Mile” in my project.

It seems I’m not the only one who was thinking about this.

From Archilliers official proposal:

“Our 9.8-acre rooftop park, together with our proposed 33,000 square-foot Eighth Avenue plaza form links in a new chain of public space that extends from the High Line through Hudson Boulevard Park all the way to Bryant Park.”

Here is the so called masterplan

Restaurant, Bar, and Art Gallery, sounds nice. And look at that view.

Here is a section perspective

If all of this were to come to fruition, it would be one of the biggest and best park/public spaces in the city. Absolutely amazing.

Speaking of all of these towers in between HY and the PABT

Are these just potential sites? I think Affirmation Tower will rise on one of them?
What is the situation with them? Do they have a lot of FAR? Will we see a lot of towers of Affirmation’s size or more like HY?

I wouldn’t call them potential sites as a majority of them have already been developed are in the process of being developed with buildings already construction and in planning. Affirmation Tower is indeed on one of the lots highlighted in the map. The new buildings will not be as big as either Affirmation nor the principal Hudson Yards development. Not including 3 Hudson Boulevard and the Affirmation Tower site, the proposed buildings all seem to be smaller in size than 55 Hudson Yards. And but for only 2 more track plots that need to be covered over, the majority of Hudson Park is completed as depicted in the map.

Well, that’s unfortunate. At least the PABT will be big

I just realized that based on a map, it forms a letter “U” shape from PABT to Hudson Yards, to Manhattan West, and to the Penn Station redevelopment

The new buildings though may still be classified as skyscrapers right, depending on the height?

I believe so yes, I would have to check back with you on that for reassurance, but I do believe that all the proposed buildings that are known of are between 650’-1000’ tall (200-299m).

I could also make a map of the developments with my context model.

Cool, sounds good!

650’-1000’ tall (198-305m) is still pretty tall when viewed in person, especially when it’s in an open area

Small thing but 299 M is 980 ft, not 1,000

Fixed the height there lol. Thanks for the clarification

I actually wasn’t using them in tandem with each other, that’s just how the US views skyscraper height vs countries that use the metric system as this is how SkyscraperCity classifies the difference between Skyscrapers and Supertalls.

Numbers aren’t always pretty between the two, so it’s easier to round up/down for reference to determine the difference. The CTBUH of course uses the metric system so I’ll defer to them for accurate measurements for criteria between skyscrapers and supertalls.

Ah, that makes sense

Yeah… I’m just going to continue to use the 300 M / 984 ft supertall designation.

Anyways besides that, so between the PABT and HY Affirmation will be the only really tall one. I wonder if there’s any projects north of the PABT that are major? Before you hit 57th ofc.
And in general I wonder what big developments will be spured on by the PABT redevelopment

In general, I think the only developments north of the PABT redevelopment are 740 Eighth Avenue and potentially 790 7th Avenue.

Imagine if Hells Kitchen north of 42nd street gets redeveloped alongside the PABT, now that’ll be really interesting

If you’re only referring to anything South of 59th St, West of 8th Ave, and North of 42nd St, really just Hell’s Kitchen, then there’s really nothing, sides being Hell’s Kitchen, zoning does not permit very large towers. Really the only exceptions to this within the bound area are Deutsche Center, One Worldwide Plaza, and the Hearst Tower.
