Diagram via DOB:

the Height to the tip of spire is 1602’. It’s unclear if that is the elevation figure.

The elevation for this site is 56.8 feet.

So the height of the tower is either 1,545 feet or 1,602 feet!!

Even at a pinnacle of 1,545ft, it’s still a minor but obviously welcomed height increase.

Either way NYC is going to be adding on some serious height.

If we could only get a tower or two in the 1800-2000 ft range.

We really do need some megatalls… cant wait for the time when this guy is considered mediocre height.

I know! Hopefully at least one developer will look at NYC and want to build a megatall, even if it’s just to say he did it.

That’s never going to happen. People In NY would freak out if an 1,800’ tower were proposed, and no developer wants that fight. Also, no one is willing to breach the WTC’s symbolic height.

I can understand that being the case now, but surely, as time passes, this notion should pass as well. After all, NYC has been the city of progress. Building taller than 1WTC, does not make its symbolic height any less meaningful.

I think given time, this will be realized. Just not hopefully 25 years from now!
