Still like NYT Tower’s spire more. Now I wish the building was taller…product of a different time.

The NYT spire is nice in and of itself but is so utterly incongruent with the rest of the building that I am convinced it was not in the original design. It’s comically tall compared to the height of the rest of the tower, and there’s nothing in the way of transition.
On it’s own, 1 Vandys spire is a bit weird, but it flows perfectly with the crown of the building and looks less like a plain stick and more “substantial”
