14 feet until the roof, one more box section. Then two more sections that make the final angled parapet, but the next 3 sections may be constructed together like the current set. The spire is actually 143 feet tall and further into the future we’ll see 2 circular exhaust vents stick out of the parapet a bit…like 10 and 30 HY

I’ll admit I’m getting pretty giddy. All these supertalls so close to topping out. I’m really into the crown metalwork of this building and Steinway.

I’ve been worried about the sheer bulk of this building. The ESB also is big but it works because of its tapering shape and crown. One Vanderbilt looks like it may end up end up with the same impact. That would be terrific. And it would be a lot better than 30 Hudson Yards where the size is just plain overwhelming and weighty.
