They have. Bally’s is to proceed, and the Coney Island casino is dead. The Metropolitan is the last good one left and it’s fate will be decided tomorrow.

Metropolitan Park, Resorts World and MGM should get the licenses. The Bally’s proposal is in a desolate corner of the Bronx shoehorned between a residential neighborhood and a cemetery. It’s bad planning.

I’m the same here, to be honest. I was a bit biased towards Empire City because I’m familiar with the area, and it would be nice for a downstate city, not NYC, to get some economic development. Now that it’s out, I lost interest.
We’ve lost too many cool projects to the point where Metropolitan Park is the only interesting one (IMO) out of what’s left. To think we’ve had over 10 proposals at the beginning…….

Seems like it, but GFLB could decide to just not issue one of them (or all of them) since they have the full discretion to give them out or not if they deem the entree doesnt meet their requirements.

Have to disagree to an extent. Citifield is probably the best one that’s left. The rest are mediocre. The Citifield casino turns giant surface parking lots into substance and might also give the very tired Willets Point subway stop an upgrade. I am sad that the HY proposal and the Coney Island one are dead though.
