NEW YORK | LOW-RISE / GENERAL Development News + Construction

Lights were added to the lighthouse on the northern tip of Roosevelt island in Hells Gate. I’m not sure if they can change colors though, I couldn’t find much online. Lighthouse park also had lots of public art displays added recently which you can kinda see in the photo.

This could still be the older rendering of 660 Lexington Ave. Will they start installing the facade on this project soon?

I believe this is a through block lot, and the other side faces Atlantic - I saw some rudimentary drawings on the fence, and they don’t look too promising…

Wasn’t sure where exactly to post, but there is a very heavy duty scaffolding going up at the base of 575 5th Ave (I think its 575, i’ve never taken a pic any of the times ive noticed the scaffolding going up).

Finally some work happening on the site of 504 W 49th Street- hard to get a good shot but they are doing some excavation and looks like rebuilding the retaining wall against the railroad tracks below.

Will the tracks here between 48th and 49th continue to be open to the sky, or will they be covered up by the new development?

The new development is being built directly over the tracks, up to the eastern retaining wall/property line, the site to the east is being turned into a park. :+1:

The address is billed as 705 10th Ave, but the building is called Rialto West. This is actually a relatively nice looking building.
Here’s some renders
