Coops can be emptied and redeveloped much easier than rent stabilized buildings. You just need a majority of tenants to agree to a buyout.
Hopefully, that happens here. This garbage looks like rent stabilized rentals that were converted to coops. It’s a hideous eyesore which detracts from the area.
