Man, that is just so stupid. If she stopped trying to appeal to every person with a car in 300 mile radius around the city this would have already passed and the MTA would already be working on new or existing capital projects.

It’s not surprising he wants to kill it. Trump tried to mess up Gateway so its not surprising he’ll go after this next.

Has there ever been a time before when New York city/state had simultaneously the worst mayor and governor in living memory?

The article says it best:

"…congestion pricing has already been debated politically for years. He noted that state lawmakers approved the tolls more than five years ago, and that MTA officials endured years of public hearings before proposing a $15 base fee for drivers entering Manhattan below 60th Street.

“Riders fought for and won congestion pricing, and what we won was a law. The legislature voted for it and the governor signed it,”

As an American transportation planner, it’s so frustrating to live in a time/place where even the most basic, sustainable policy is utterly impossible to implement because god forbid some car brained idiot has to be even slightly inconvenienced.

A judge has said that lawsuits challenging Hochul’s decision to pause congestion pricing can continue after the governor tried to thwart them. This is good news.
