NEW YORK | Casoni (989 6th Avenue) | 785 FT | 70 FLOORS

Potential lighting? Hard to tell for sure, but it’s coming from the louvered panels, so its possible these are actually light integrated CW panels.

I saw a photo taken from ground level not too long ago, it does look like lighting

Looking at renderings on the architect’s site, it is likely to be a lighting test, particularly since those elements are depicted to have illumination.

This a funky addition. It’s as if Art-Deco and Po-Mo had a little get together and decided to fool around a bit…

Looks like they’re finally getting ready to clad those little concrete lot line projections.

So it was lighting and they are coming from the louvers panels, so i wonder if the ones on the south flat side will also light up.

Will it run the entire length of the building? Looks kinda… awkward otherwise.

The louvered panels run the length of the building’s sections. Why they’re only testing a specific small localized portion, who knows. Could be just getting a feel for it.
