Rudin planning office-to-resi conversion on Third Avenue
Rudin submitted plans to the Department of Buildings this week to convert the 21-story office building at 845 Third Ave. into 411 dwelling units across 308,114 square feet of residential space with 9,103 of commercial space on the ground floor. The approximate job cost would be $41.7 million, according to the filing from company Vice President Paul Mandel, although the final price tag is often significantly higher than the estimated amount.
It’s unclear when construction would break ground or when the building’s existing commercial and retail tenants would move out.
