There’s spaces nearby where they can rent rooms.
Smh, this building is so darn ugly, cool concept, but terribly ugly.
To be honest, im unfazed by this project now, because even though we technically still dont know what it’s going to look like, we know what the overall thing looks like and are sure of it being built, whether we like the final design or not.
Outside of that, the thing I’m still particularly annoyed by is that Extell wasnt able to buyout the remaining small lots that are just cutting into the building and will now be enveloped into it… I always wonder if anything wouldve changed (with the latest iteration) had the full half block been assembled.
Besides that, looks like it’s reached streetlevel, though I think this is one of the rare cases I’ve seen where the perimeter reaches street level before the core or any interior supports.
Yeah, I realize my opinion on the building means nothing. The building reminds me of the court jester that the nobles (more mature, serious skyscrapers) laugh at.
I mean you’re not wrong of all the buildings I can think of I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many people make fun of/poke jokes about the design more than this building.
It’s going to be so weird when the core passes the main portion of the building and just keeps rising like a giant smokestack.
Although I have to say it is one of the ugliest skyscrapers in New York, it will be the next tourist magnet in 2028. What is also a little strange is that no renderings have been published yet, maybe the building won’t look so bad then.
The new tourist attraction in New York from 2028, or so I could read in the travel brochure.
It’s better to keep tourists herded into as small an area as possible.
That’s crazy. Is that going to be the basement?

The following aerial renderings preview the views that the observatory will provide of the skyline, including vistas of Billionaires’ Row, Lower Manhattan, and the surrounding landmarks in Midtown.

Close-ups of the observatory detail the glass-enclosed staircases and the protruding glass-floor boxes, as well as the Intamin-designed drop ride, which features 300-foot-tall transparent tubes that riders will traverse over a 90-second experience.

Ok this building is weird af but these renderings sold me. We don’t have anything like it here. Torch is an appropriate name. It better shine like crazy at night.
Im just thankful its covered in highly reflective glass so it disappears
The hotel portion looks nothing special.
I was right
The render images look like they came from a book brochure of some sort. I hope the digital ones are eventually published to give a better look at the renders.
I think this is one we will have to see in person for final judgement.
Can’t believe this is really happening lol
i’m so obsessed with this tower i fear
Woohoo! Another supertall to keep us construction addicts entertained for the next three years.
