curved windows like that don’t appear to be in either of the rendered designs. It appears like the final design will be closer to the original renderings.
Huh. What a weird building. It definitely looks designed by a committee and might not age well.
But I agree that it could have been worse, based on the renderings. I don’t hate it.
wow! Looks great
yeah, looks quite nice, I’d say
at least the non-balcony parts
Generic Architecture; good, but not close to being better/best in terms of aesthetics. Creating capital A Architecture is an art form that is deceptively difficult to master.
The term that works here for me is “Artless” architecture.
Strikes me as a hodge podge of somewhat generic and increasingly out of date architectural styles. I think it may even rate the monikers of ugly or massive hulk. Obviously I don’t think much of it. Maybe if it really was designed to look like two or three different buildings with somewhat contrasting styles I’d like it. This designs joins the different facades in an irrational way.
Designed by committee
better than LIC style glass boringness
Agree, I wish they would have stuck to one idea. The brick and windows are good quality, and the white trims are a nice touch.
I understand the appeal but those balconies are not helping.
A lot more tasteful than those who were quick to judge would admit. Still a bit of a hodgepodge. But there are some very handsome details.
And it’s housing so there’s that as well.
Much better than what was originally planned! It’s true that it has nice details, and that from the street level it blends with the neighborhood. Not a great skyline player, and that’s a missing opportunity being so close to the bridge.
