Looks like third plan’s a charm for Extell’s project at 68 Charlton Place; it seems the developer has decided to stick with its proposal to develop a 22-story residential building with 91 market-rate co-ops and 25 affordable apartments. Excavation is moving ahead at the property, where BBH spotted the first rendering of the Hudson Square building. Extell’s previous plans for the lot included both a 35-story luxury hotel, and later, a 13-story residential building. The 22-story building with more than 20-percent affordable housing won the approval of Community Board 2 in February, despite Extell’s plan to build two separate towers separating affordable and market-rate apartments. BBH reports that the building will be complete towards the end of 2016.
