The hand laid brick work arched windows are stunning. The deep set window, and the step-back rows of brick is a robust & elegant look. I am once again reminded of 130 William Street; there are a lot of Arched windows going up around town. I am not sure if this is a new trend, or I am just now starting to notice.

Well done - exceptional architecture like this is great to see.

Looks absolutely lovely, although this gives me pause.

I suppose it’s a pipe dream to think it might get the same lovely brick treatment as the rest of the building?

I just discovered this building about 60 seconds ago, and got to watch it go from proposal to near completion in less than a minute. Thanks, everyone.

Kinda nifty!

Blends in nicely and unique at the same time.

What a difference…

The bland looking former building on this site was petitioned for “landmark” status. This new building is a vast improvement. What a ruse - the GVSHP need to be forthright - they simply are opposed to any new development projects in that area. As best I can surmise anyway.

The brickwork on this new facade has the ‘status’ of capital A ARTISTRY in craftwork. IMHO.

EXCERPT - Reposting this link from earlier in this thread.
Village Preservation has been campaigning for landmark designation for this area, and our research and documentation submitted to the City shows that this building, in spite of its utilitarian looks, actually has [an incredibly important history worthy of recognition and protection. While we have made some [progress recently advancing our landmarking proposal, the City has nevertheless resisted landmarking the full proposed district, and Councilmember Carlina Rivera who represents this area, has not endorsed the historic district landmarking proposal.

Imagine wanting to save that.

Maybe it is saved as a reminder of what should never be built again!
