Had there been, it would’ve been posted ![]()
Why are there impressions of the columns in the adjacent wall of the neighboring building?
Pics by me Mulan M.
well, that’s a relief that it is only your opinion, and you don’t have a say in anything
Is there any other firm that makes modern art deco supertalls? I’d say they’re the best at it, and they don’t focus on just art deco. Look at the Comcast Center in Philadelphia, that’s a RAMSA design and went through many design changes
i wish we would get a gothic/modern supertall here…….
The saudi partnership might transform it to a commercial tower
“Related Companies might build a new office at 625 Madison Avenue, where it had planned a 1,220-foot, 68-story supertall with residential, hotel and retail. The pivot would be to an “AA-class office tower.”
Much of RAMSA’s work is really considered New Classical and (to some degree) PoMo, there may be embellishments of some Art Deco elements, but I wouldn’t go as far to consider their work as being Neo Art Deco. SHoP is arguably the leader of Neo Art Deco towers in the city with 111W57th and Brookyln tower.
If the above news regarding the building use is true, I would much rather someone else than RAMSA, not that I would want them for a resi anyways.
I wouldn’t mind another KPF tower in the city. I love their designs in China like the Tianfu Center and North Bund Tower.
this definitely looks like a design from SLCE rather than RAMSA
So indeed SLCE wasn’t just architect of record.
The floor heights etc. match up with the zoning diagrams but you would think the niche above the podium in the recent axonometric diagram would’ve figured in the rendering if this indeed is the latest design.
Whatever is submitted to DOB doesn’t necessarily always reflect the latest, the differences could be a by product of the time passed from when the zoning documents were actually submitted to what we are seeing now in the render. Design elements can change very quickly in a short span of time.
Really by the time DOB documents are made public lots of things happen in terms of design decisions.
It still seems unlikely that SLCE ends up with lead design for a supertall in so-called “Billionaire’s Row.” A bankable name still needs to be attached to the building.
625 Madison Ave.
On SSP, ChiND stated that it is to be designed by Foster and Gensler. Can
anyone confirm this information?
Between a Related exec stating that this will be an office tower, and the alleged posting of Foster and Gensler on the fence, it sounds pretty conclusive. Fair enough, still better than what was there.
