NEW YORK | 484 Eighth Ave | Ft | Fl

As previously reported, Vornado owns 484 8th and the two small buildings next door on the north side of 34th Street.

Virnado also owns 488 8th. 486 sat in the middle of Vornado’s assemblage, but they just acquired it.

This whole site is adjacent to Chetrit’s assemblage.

Vornado owns the three properties from the corner of 34th and 8th to the building with Famihlia Pizza.

I don’t believe that it owns the troubled Methafone McD or the 10 story (or so) office building on the corner of 35th St. However, I would not be surprised if it acquires them.

This is a close-up of the three buildings on the 8th Ave side of the assemblage owned by Vornado.

Virnado also owns these buildinfs on the 34th St side of the assemblage. (BagMan, which is next to Vornado’s trio, is part of Chetrit’s assemblage.)

Once Vornado and Chetrit redevelop their heinous sites on the west side of 34th between 7th and 8th, it will be a very nice block. The eastern portion of the block has two beautiful pre-War office towers.

Beautiful!!!

It’s coming down now. I hope this doesn’t end up as one of those sites that sit vacant for years, and we get a swift transition to construction

I would love it if Vornado acquires the McD on 8th where the druggies hang out.

https://www.crainsnewyork.com/real-estate/vornado-shares-details-planned-apartment-building-484-eighth-ave-near-penn-station

“Vornado Realty Trust quietly divulged new details about its long-rumored plan to develop an apartment tower across the street from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.

The developer envisions spending about $350 million to build a 475-unit apartment tower on the northeast corner of West 34th Street and Eighth Avenue, Vornado President Michael Franco said at an investor conference this week. Vornado plans to tap a state program called 485-x that provides tax incentives to develop affordable housing, according to a report about the conference from Evercore ISI analyst Steve Sakwa.”

Not exactly a dream location but convenient.

We need hundreds of thousands of new residential units everywhere.

Shouldn’t a residential tower or mixed-use development be planned here after the Penn District? (Site 4).

Im confused by the ask here, are you saying nothing should be built here until something is built on site 4 of the ESC (Vornado’s Penn District and the former ESC are not one and the same)? The ESC was effectively done away with, the plan doesnt really exist anymore.

Outside of that, this lot is much much smaller than any of the lots that the ESC encompassed, itd be much easier for Vornado to get a loan to build a residential tower of this size on this lot than on any of the more notable Penn District lots.

Vornado has purchased the McDonalds directly adjacent to this site to the north.

Vornado pays $12M to McDonald’s in Garment District, may expand adjacent 475-unit dev site

I pass by that McDs every day and I’m sorry to say, it’s the true dregs of society hanging inside and outside of it, much more than other McDs in the city. :worried:

(I guess they’ll just migrate elsewhere in the area though)

There is apparently a meth clinic nearby.

Those people need to be shipped to Poughkeepsie.
